I don't know to what extent you folks get feedback on these "property tours" that are offered through your publications and services but I would like to give credit today to the Sugar Loaf Team in Uruguay. I have been following David`s project for some years now and had an opportunity in early November to take him up on an invitation to see Sugar Loaf. Without getting too carried away I have to say how very impressed I was with Dave, his team and the project. The attention to detail and itinerary were first class. At no time did I feel any form of sales pressure.

Indeed, I enjoyed a few days of countryside tours before I had an opportunity to see the exciting Sugar Loaf Development. Alex and Alejandro were fabulous in showing off parts of wonderful Uruguay (Montevideo and along the coast to Punta). The lodgings and food were exquisite. The team was very flexible in allowing me to see areas and services that I was interested in. They were immensely patient, attentive and dedicated. David lodged us in high end lodgings and the food, wine, conversations and laughs were outstanding. At no time did I feel I was in a sell position. I was able to meet David`s lovely wife and the whole experience seemed more a family gathering than any sort of pitch.

I cannot say enough good things about David and his team - about their honesty, their integrity and particularly their belief in this wonderful Sugar Loaf Project.

I found [Uruguay] friendly and delightfully clean. It can be as urban or rural a lifestyle as you find comfortable, with a temperate climate and multi-national population. It's nice to find a country without hurricanes, earthquakes or tornados but still have clean safe water resources.

My visit included a few days with the David James and Alex Garcia of Sugarloaf. We were treated to great food and wine plus a taste of Montevideo cultural events. I could write books about our vacation and Uruguay as a great place to retire, but I think Alex Garcia said it all when she said "We're not just looking for clients to buy property, but people to be our neighbors."  I can envision my life there with great sunsets, community activity, dinners with all neighbors gathering for a fabulous barbeque and a sense that life is good.

If you're looking for something not tied to UPS and DOWNS in the USA or Europe, Uruguay should be a consideration. Stable consistent growth, an educated population and good infrastructure makes it very attractive.
