FENG SHUI

feng shuiSugar Loaf is the only development in Uruguay to combine the practices of Feng Shui with Western construction and ideology creating a harmonious environment to assure wellness
of mind, body, and spirit.

Feng Shui is an ancient art and science developed over 3,000 years ago in China. It is a complex body of knowledge that reveals how to balance the energies of any given space to assure the physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing of the people inhabiting it.

"Feng" means "wind" and "shui" means "water" (pronounced fung-shway). In Chinese culture gentle wind and clear water have always been associated with good harvest and good health, thus "good feng shui" came to mean good livelihood and fortune.

Feng Shui is based on the Taoist vision and understanding of nature, particularly on the idea that the land is alive and filled with Qi or energy.

Feng Shui offers common sense practices for healthy living, while addressing the less tangible spiritual aspects of life.

The creation of the community of Sugar Loaf embraces thousands of years of Eastern wisdom while preserving the cultural traditions of its location and inhabitants.

PRIVATE FENG SHUI CONSULTATIONS

For those who want the full benefit of a Feng Shui environment, Sugar Loaf offers private Feng Shui consulting. Private consultations are individually tailored and take into account the exact location of the home, individual needs, and lifestyle.

The consultations are given by Sugar Loaf's
Feng Shui expert, Architect Cheung-Koon Yim.

Private consultations include the following:

Distribution and location of interior and exterior furniture to improve Qi, taking into consideration materials, textures, color, and shape, as well as, functionality.
Suggestions as to location of decoration, art, placing of symbols, mirrors, plants, and fountains to amplify positive energy and to annul negative energy.
Landscaping can be described as manicured nature with Eastern influences. The technique is called Xeriscape, which uses indigenous plants and rock to blend in with the natural environment. As with the arrangement of furniture inside the home, the private consultation will include tailoring landscaping for individual homes based on location, needs, and lifestyle.
Geo-puncture uses various techniques to amplify positive energy and annul negative energy in specific areas of the home.

FENG SHUI CHARACTERISTICS OF SUGAR LOAF

The magnetic fields in and around Piriapolis where Sugar Loaf is located have long been considered to have one of the strongest concentrations of geo-energy in the Southern Hemisphere. This energy vortex is said to create a positive effect, similar to Sedona Arizona. In fact, this is one of the primary reasons the founding father of Piriapolis, Francisco Piria, choose the site.

Sugar Loaf is surrounded by Sierra de la Animas to the west, Cerro San Antonio to the east, and the Atlantic Ocean to the front, and is prominently protected by Cerro Pan de Azucar to the rear. According to Chinese tradition, this topography is called a "dragon's bosom", considered a good place for people to prosper.

Sugar Loaf has Shan Shui, the harmonious integration between the polarity of YIN (the water) and the polarity of YANG (the mountain). The energy of Sugar Loaf mountain flows smoothly down sculptured slopes merging with amazing vistas of an infinite blue ocean, eliminating stress and creating a feeling of oneness with nature.

The highest points on the property are dedicated to the construction of homes. Each home has the full benefit of the Qi and a commanding view of the ocean and surrounding sierra. The club house and spa have the most privileged position at the top of the property ruling over the entire community, like an emperor's castle. Other areas are reserved for Tai Ji Quan-Qi Gong, the integration with mother nature through activities like trekking, horseback riding, and meditation.

Only half the property will be developed, leaving a natural green barrier of privacy around the development.

Homes were designed according to Feng Shui and meet the beneficial geobiologic conditions in both their distribution and management of space. Bedrooms are on the lower floor to create a dragon's embrace of intimate harmony, while the kitchen, living, and dinning rooms are on the top floor in an open layout to receive the Qi of the mountain and ocean.
